Statement of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pyongyang Concerning the Recent Act of Aggression by the United States and the Zionist Regime against the Territorial Integrity and National Sovereignty of Iran and the Martyrdom of His Eminence Ayatollah Khamenei Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea strongly condemns the recent acts of aggression perpetrated by the United States and the Zionist regime against the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and extends its profound condolences to the noble people of Iran on the martyrdom of His Eminence Ayatollah Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Such acts constitute a manifest violation of the fundamental principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. Full responsibility for all ensuing consequences shall rest with the Government of the United States and the Zionist regime. The Islamic Republic of Iran reserves its inherent right to legitimate self-defence in accordance with Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations.

The Islamic Republic of Iran expects the international community and all independent states of the world to unequivocally condemn this act of aggression and to fulfil their responsibilities in preserving international peace and security.
