Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran on the US armed aggression against Iran

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the US aggressive actions against our beloved homeland on the evening of Tuesday September 1 and emphasizes the determination of the Islamic Republic of Iran to decisively defend Iran’s independence national sovereignty and territorial integrity. In the attack by the American enemy on a wedding party in Kohstak located in Sirik County Hormozgan Province more than 70 compatriots were martyred and injured most of whom were women and children. These brutal war crimes which are considered to be a serious violation of the fundamental principles of international law are reminiscent of previous American-Zionist crimes over the past year and a half including in Minab and Lamerd. In response to the US military aggression the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in accordance with their inherent right of self-defense dealt a crushing blow to the US military bases which were the origin and supporter of the US military aggression against the Iranian nation.

The US regime, which has become desperate in the face of the Iranian nation’s iron determination to defend the Iranian nation, once again violated Iran’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity on the evening of Tuesday, September 1, 2026, by attacking several civilian areas and service infrastructures, including a number of telecommunication masts and sites in the provinces of Khuzestan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Hormozgan, and Kerman, as a result of which a number of our compatriots were martyred and injured, and damage was caused to public and private property.

In the attack by the American enemy on a wedding party in Kohstak, located in Sirik County, Hormozgan Province, more than 70 compatriots were martyred and injured, most of whom were women and children.

These brutal war crimes, which are considered to be a serious violation of the fundamental principles of international law, are reminiscent of previous American-Zionist crimes over the past year and a half, including in Minab and Lamerd.

In response to the US military aggression, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in accordance with their inherent right of self-defense, dealt a crushing blow to the US military bases, which were the origin and supporter of the US military aggression against the Iranian nation.

 The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly calls on the countries of the region to prevent the US aggressors from using their facilities and territories to prepare and carry out aggressive operations against Iran, to prevent the continuation and spread of the fire of war in the region, and not to allow the sinister US-Zionist conspiracy to impose permanent insecurity on the region to be realized.

While expressing condolences for the martyrdom of our dear compatriots, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalls the responsibility of all governments to prosecute, try, and punish the perpetrators and commanders of gross violations of international humanitarian law.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran once again recalls the responsibility of the United Nations, especially the Security Council and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, to fulfill their duties in accordance with the Charter of the UN. The silence and inaction of the organs of the United Nations in the face of persistent violations of the fundamental principles and rules of the Charter, especially Article 2, paragraph 4, by a permanent member of the Security Council will further discredit the Organization's position and pose a growing threat to international peace and security.
